You're invited to our 2026 Favorite (love) Poem Project event on Valentine's Day at RDG Planning & Desing in Des Moines! A dozen local community leaders will read their favorite love poems alongside chocolates and bubbly for all to enjoy.

About the event
Poetry Palooza presents the second annual Favorite (Love) Poem Project - this year held on Valentine's Day.
Community leaders read their favorite poems - a throwback to a program of the Des Moines National Poetry Festival. This year, readers will read their favorite love poems and let us know why it's their top choice. Suzanna de Baca, recently of the Des Moines Business Record, will serve as emcee. Other readers include: Abena Imhotep, Andreain Henry, Christie Vilsack, Daniel Zinnel, Dwana Bradley, Hailey Evans, Heather Schott, Michael Egel, Mike Draper, Myrna Johnson, and Tar Macias.
Program at RDG Planning & Design, 301 Grand Avenue in Des Moines. February 14 (of course), 2-4 p.m.
Free and open to the public with bubbly and chocolates served. A parking ramp is immediately to the south of RDG offices. Registration encouraged but no required. See poetryamp.org to register or learn more information.
